Introduction to Strength Training - Holiday Camp

This camp will focus on introducing young sportspeople to the techniques and types of exercises typically found within the strength training programs of elite athletes. In a supportive and fun environment, participants will learn the purpose and benefit of each exercise, how to safely perform them and ultimately how to get the most out of their own training.

Open to those aged 13 and over and of relevance and applicable to all sporting backgrounds, the program has been designed by our expert team who will be on hand throughout, to ensure each child is supported, engaged, included and most of all enjoying their experience.

Registration is $300 per person (or $250 if booked before December 12th) and includes daily lunch and refreshments. Each day of the camp will run from 10am – 2pm and our goal is to significantly increase each childs understanding of strength training and ability to use it to enhance their own sporting performance.

Here is a brief overview of what we are planning to progress your child through:

Day 1 (Tuesday 7th) - Lower Body

The first day will serve as your introduction to the overall importance of Strength Training and its role in sport and fitness. From there you will be introduced to the main lower body exercises you will generally come across in an exercise program and be taken through how to safely and effectively execute each movement. You will also have the opportunity to run through a sample lower body exercise program, similar to those we use on our elite athletes here at Precision Athletica, using the skills you learnt during your first day.

Day 2 (Wednesday 8th) - Upper Body

Your day will consist of learning the value of gaining strength various upper body movements and how they can have a positive impact on your sporting performance. You'll get a chance to put your new found skills to the test with a sample program our Precision Athletica elite athletes might use.

Day 3 (Thursday 9th) - Trunk and Exercise Blending

Learn just how important a strong trunk and core is in sport and how it can impact the way you move and perform. You'll undertake a range of trunk stability exercises during the day and learn just how important using your stomach muscles really are to performance! And yes, you'll get to run through a sample program here too!

Day 4 (Friday 10th) - Loading Methods

Increasing the weight isn't the only way you can progress through an exercise! Learn the different ways you can get better at a movement and take your performance to the next level. Get to try a range of methods to help you grow bigger, stronger and faster than before.
